SCOTTSBURG, Ind. – The Scott County Heritage Center and Museum is hosting an art exhibit of pieces ranging from ancient Greece to modern artists, including Andy Warhol. The exhibit, titled "Athens to Warhol: 2500 Years of Art," contains pieces come from an exceptional private art collection and will remain on display through Dec. 20. The collection includes about 15 pieces of artwork by the late Harlan Hubbard of Trimble County, Ky.
The art comes to the museum courtesy of Rob Cathcart, who has been collecting works of art for more than 20 years. His collection contains more than 1,000 pieces, a small portion of which will be on display at the museum. Approximately 100 pieces from Cathcart’s collection compose the exhibit.
“We’re very excited about having this exhibit come to the museum,” said museum Executive Director Jeremy Risen. “This is a really unique opportunity for people to see some works of art that are generally not available to the public.”
